My recording partner and our exec prod. made the 7 hour trip from Central Florida to Duluth, GA on Sunday morning at 8:00am. Having just returned safely with some great stories and a little wacky hotel footage on the HDcam (Holiday Inn gets Trashed...Dude in Elevator) I will relate what I learned from their experience, which is an unbiased, non-production point-of-view. Doors opened at 7:30 shortly followed by TweakBird taking the stage as the arena gradually filled. The "very well behaved crowd", according to B. Nutter, was made up of kids, teens, adults, and "folks her age". Concertgoers came from Missouri, Alabama, and quite a few from Florida to enjoy the show. Tool was onstage at around 8:15 and played until10:30 when they left the stage after a single encore. Production (from an audience point of view) included 3 screens of video ("LCD or Projection....?" "I dunno....") Sound was not mentioned (no news is good news?) And there were 3 (really) lasers which sounded like some air cooled DPSS. There was red, and green, with some mirror bounces. No Pyrotechnics. Ticket Price was $55.00 on the face or from the box office, these two paid $619.88. from some online purveyor of tickets whom I will not name. Now mind you I did not know how much she paid until just now after I demanded to see the invoice, and though $25.00 is for Fed-Ex overnight...I am still in a state of shock. Factor in another $300-400 for gas, food and hotel. Finally I asked about the cameras. Tool did specify no cameras and evidently there was an effort being done by security to keep camera phones from being used, but a number of people had them and didn't receive any sort of reprimand. But, my peopl are home safe, and they had a good time. To me thats all that matters.

tool did not play the side stage at lollapalooza in 1991 as there was NO sidestage that year. i went to cleveland and toronto.

tool played in 1993 on both the sidestage and the mainstage as they replaced babes in toyland who were only given half the tour.

tool then played the mainstage in 1997 of the touring festival.

inter.being: I believe the Lollapalooza tour you saw Tool at was in 1993. They aren't listed on their site or on the Lollapalooza site as doing a Lolla show in '91. They are only listed as doing shows in 1993.

The shows at Shoreline in Mountain View were on June 22nd and 23rd of 1993.
