New venue in Dallas, Styx was the first rock show at the Allen Events Center, ironically they were the first rock show at Nextstage (now Nokia) in Grand Prairie , TX, 2/26/02. Great show, Night Ranger opened, Tommy Shaw came out and sang "High Enough" with Jack Blades (Damn Yankees). Styx sounded great and amazing multimedia backdrop. Chuck Panazzo played with 4 songs. REO Speedwagon was good, poor sound quality, a lot of bass and way too much drum mix. Kevin Cronin sounded excellent, a little to preachy between songs. All three seemed to appreciate each others music, different members watching each group perform on the side. Can wait 'til next time.

Saw them at the nearly full 12,000 seat Verizon Amphitheatre. REO Speedwagon and 38 Special opened the show and were very good and entertaining, but Styx blew the place away as the headline act. We have seen them many times over the years and they just keep getting better. All the effects and visuals really added to the show on this tour. The band looked rejuvinated and no one in the seats sat down during the whole show! If you get the chance you dont want to miss the current tour.

I have seen Styx everytime they've be in the DC/Baltimore area for the past 20 years - and have seen Shaw/Blades - no matter what the venue, this band NEVER disappoints - very high energy and on a couple songs the crowd was singing as loud as the band - and they loved it. You can tell that they are having a blast on stage which adds to the show - and it was awesome when Chuck came on stage! If I ever won the lottery, I'd follow the band around - while I've gotten burned out with some bands, that will never happen wtih Styx. Highly recommend them - and agree with the earlier post - am glad they no longer play Lady or Babe and LOVED that they added Crystal Ball to the set list.

I've seen Styx on numerous occasions throughout the years. Without DeYoung they went from pop band to rock band. They're much better now. I hope I never have to hear 'Babe' ever again. Keep rockin' Styx!
