Van Halen Tour?

Posted on Wednesday September 9, 2009 at 12:01 PM 25 |

Van Halen will hit the road in 2010, Ticketmaster Entertainment CEO Irving Azoff announced during the 2009 Bank of America Merrill Lynch Media, Communications and Entertainment Conference Sept. 9.

This was not expected to be the time when the next VH tour would be announced, but some lines got crossed and the information was brought during the Q&A.

Azoff also announced TM plans to unveil interactive seat maps in the fourth quarter followed by dynamic ticket pricing in 2010 and praised the company’s initial moves into paperless ticketing.

Live Nation CEO Michael Rapino, who joined Azoff for their first ever co-presentation at the conference, echoed the need for more dynamic pricing in ticketing and called LN’s no service fee Wednesdays offering this summer a success, garnering 80 to 90 percent approval ratings in exit surveys with fans.

The principals remained fairly mum about the pending merger deal, however both expressed hope they’ll see closure by the end of the year.

this tour is only about one thing and one thing only.

    $$$.

it is not about all of you faithful fans, including myself, who have endured long waits for new music from the band.  i can only imagine how much tix will cost. "dynamic ticket pricing". what an efin joke.

i will, and hopefully, many other faithful van halen fans will boycot this tour and send live nation and the band a serious message that we are sick and tired of being played for suckers.

it's Van Halen.... do you really want new material?  I personally do not want to see any 80's band trying to reclaim their former "glory"

After reading about VH netting $1million due to selling tickets to brokers, they'll never get a dime of my money ever again!  I hope the tour FLOPS!  And yes, I consider VH the best band EVER so it KILLS me but VH was dead to me when they gave Mikey the boot!

I've seen Van Halen through their "Chained" period to their "Panama" period.  There's no need for me to see them when I've seen in their prime.

As far as the money goes....why not get paid for it if people wanna see 'em.  I heard Alex didn't always keep up on the drums but, I did hear it was a good show.

"It's about the money"   YES YES and what is your point.

Why do people mow grass?  For the glory and to show off their work?

    Nobody works for free.

I think the point is that VH cheats its fans and the business in general by using ticket brokers/pole smokers.  Especially in this wonderful economy, you know, we all have all this $$$$$$$ in our pockets ready to pad the pockets of VH/Ticketbastard/LN.

Cutting grass, really?  If those down south could find out a way to rip off home owners gardening the way VH rips off its fans then the borders would be open and all the Illegals would be dirty RICH, yet they are not.

So what would you call your grass cutter.  Eddie Van Mower.  David Lee trim.

They aren't robbing their fans.  It's a completely voluntary transaction.  If you think it is worth it to go, purchase a ticket.  If not, don't.  How is that robbery?  Now, taxes on the other hand...

Obviously Mr. Lascene has never heard of supply and demand. If the fans that you claim are being "cheated" thought they were being "cheated",  then they probably never would have paid the high prices for tickets. I'd be interested to know who your employer is, then I'd be able to tell you how your company takes advantage of it's customers or employees, and yes, almost every company or corporation in America does it to some degree. If you think Van Halen tickets cost too much $$$, try going to a Stones show, and if you think they're ripping off their fans, stay home, obviously you're not a fan.

I am an Independent Contractor.  Stopped going to the Stones in the early 80's.  I stopped respecting VH when, I cannot remember, oh can you say Gary Cherone?  Recently, can you say Wolfie.

What is the difference between Irving Azoff & Bernard Madoff?  Not much.  VH being Guinea Pigs for his MASTER PLAN/NEW TICKET PRICING SYSYEM proves they are attempting to rip off the fans that made them rich in the 1st place.

Now I think I am going to pay $93 for a Bic Mac, the clown needs a new red wig.

This Picture of Dave with the goofy hat says it all.....ridicules.

No Michael Anthony replaced by Eddie's 16.17 old kid....Eddie's lost it....I used to be a big fan....but Dave with bull fighting jacket and giant blow up mic during last song, riding it like a horse and Eddie with the gay white beachy shorts second night army shorts with no shirt.......it was a joke, very disappointed.....Tip from a former super fan "Michael Anthony" and red black white classic V.H. colors....
