You Should Have Seen The Other Guy

Collective Soul and Gavin DeGraw got into a barroom brawl with a few locals in Myrtle Beach, S.C., Sunday night and played House of Blues in No. Myrtle Beach last night, looking none too worse for wear.

If you had to guess which musicians were in a 20-man dustup only 24 hours earlier, you’d be hard-pressed to pick Collective Soul and DeGraw, judging from the photos below. Neither CS nor GD looks as if either has experienced anything more physically demanding than waiting for room service.

But they were in an unidentified Myrtle Beach drinking establishment the night before when one of the other customers, after reportedly being told by his girlfriend that one of the musicians was a “good looking dude,” got up and punched Dean Roland in the face, thus starting the night’s “main event.”

Both acts Twittered their fans about the incident, with DeGraw commenting about how their opponents were “slow and drunk,” and how they didn’t expect a man who “writes love songs” to “throw down” when the going gets tough.
