Hoobastank, Forever the Sickest Kids & More Mall Tour

Posted on Monday June 29, 2009 at 01:01 PM Add |

Mall rats, rejoice! You won’t have to leave your air-conditioned paradise this summer because the entertainment is coming to you with the seventh edition of the Simon dTour Live mall concert series.

This year’s lineup includes School Boy Humor, Push Play, Hoobastank, Jimmy Robbins, Young Love, Cash Cash, Shwayze, The Cab, and Forever the Sickest Kids.

Don’t worry about setting aside cash for a ticket to the show because the Simon malls tour is free. Whew! That almost caused a major crisis between purchasing that cool new shirt or shelling out a week’s allowance at the food court.

The 12-date tour is hitting 10 U.S. cities this summer with Shwayze kicking things off July 24 at the Westminster Mall in Los Angeles. Hoobastank is set to perform July 26 at The Block at Los Angeles.

Jimmy Robbins will perform three dates of the tour, playing July 31 at Dallas’ Grapevine Mills mall, Aug. 9 at Atlanta’s Discover Mills mall and Aug. 16 at Tyrone Square in Tampa, Fla.

School Boy Humor takes the stage Aug. 2 at Katy Mills in Houston and Aug. 7 at Mall of George in Atlanta. Young Love is scheduled for Aug. 13 at Sawgrass Mills in Miami followed by Push Play Aug. 21 at the Oxford Valley Mall in Philadelphia. The Cab then plays Roosevelt Field in New York Aug. 23 followed by Forever The Sickest Kids playing Mall at Rockingham Park in Salem, N.H., Aug. 25 and Cash Cash at Chicago’s Orland Square Aug. 29.

Participating sponsors include Coca Cola, Samsung, XGames Gear, Universal Studios Home Entertainment's release of “Bring It On: Fight to the Finish,” Eco-Maniacs, truth(R), the National Crime Prevention Council, and Fox Searchlight Pictures' feature film "Post Grad."

The mall tour will also include BMX bike demos, interactive games and contests.

The Xgames BMX Jams tour is headlined by BMX legend and 22-year veteran Dave “The Lord” Voelke, who will show off three half-hour BMX bike demos and games at each tour stop.

Teens can play out Guitar Hero World Tour, enjoy free Coke, check out new Samsung Mobile phones, win prizes and talk to make-up artists and fashion stylists at the "Post Grad" make-over station.
