Coolio Arrested For Drugs

Posted on Friday March 6, 2009 at 03:02 PM 4 |

Coolio was arrested at Los Angeles International Airport this morning on suspicion of possessing drugs.

The rapper, whose real name is Artis Levon Ivey Jr., was arrested after he was found with narcotics, reports Reuters.

Although police haven’t released details of the arrest, TMZ reports Coolio was arrested after a security screener discovered the rapper had crack cocaine on his person.

Apparently Coolio was about to board a Southwest Airlines flight to Tusla, Oklahoma, where he, along with Tone Loc and Shock G, are scheduled to perform.

Coolio first hit it big with his 1995 hit “Gangsta’s Paradise,” but these days he’s known for his reality TV appearances more than for his rhymes. Recent TV appearances include “Celebrity Fear Factor” and hosting “Cooking with Coolio.”

However, if Coolio goes to court on the drug charge, we're betting it won’t be “Judge Judy.”

Surely, but he was probably used to getting away with this sort of thing regularly.

I say let the guy go and wreck his life on crack, that's his choice.

I wouldn't care anyhow, I'd just be there to see Tone Loc.
