While we’re big fans of new technology around here, there are a couple of things to be said for CDs and we’re gonna miss when they go away.

Like the primal struggle of getting the darned thing open and trying to take off that annoying, sticky label. That kind of made the experience of listening to a new CD a little sweeter, like we’d earned it somehow.

But we’ll probably miss CDs the most when the year rolls around to Christmas. They make great stocking stuffers. How are you going to stuff mp3s in a stocking?

Folks on TV this week with new or new-ish music to look for in your stocking this year include Britney Spears, Brian McKnight, Fall Out Boy, Jamie Foxx, The Fray, Enya, Plain White T’s and Melissa Etheridge.

My God, when will Britney Spears disappear?! 60% of these artists don't appreciate the roots set back in the day when music was GENUINE, from the heart. This fake stuff, all these digitized voices and sounds, is all flash in the pan business. Bring in the real artists!!

There. That's out of the way.

What on God's green earth are you talking about? My opinion is relevant in every way and this has nothing to do with me doing what I need for survival. What I say goes, okay? Real. Music. I'm a real person with strong views, I deserve my uppity, musical prodigies to know that this world is just and fair. Forget this fluffy stuff.
