Justin Timberlake set a new gross record for a single performance at Rupp Arena in Lexington, Ky. on Wednesday night, Sept. 19, grossing just over $2 million from 17,342 tickets. The pop star smashed the arena’s previous record set in October 2015 by Taylor Swift who took in $1.8 million from one show during her 1989 world tour, according to box office totals reported to Pollstar.

Timberlake’s headlining performance was his first solo stint at the Lexington arena and his first appearance since *NSYNC played there in June 2000. The show kicked off the second North American leg of his Man of the Woods tour that launched in March.

He began his 2018 tour with an opening 12-week trek through U.S. and Canadian markets, followed by a 19-city run through Europe during July and August. He will remain on the road in North America through mid-December. The tour is set to continue into 2019 with a final run stateside planned for January.

The Live Nation-produced Man of the Woods tour has grossed more than $126 million since its spring debut based on 992,026 sold tickets. Timberlake has played 64 shows so far on the tour. He is on track to surpass $200 million in box office revenue by the tour’s finale on Jan. 29.
