Neil Young recently announced that he would not be performing at British Summer Time Hyde Park, if Barclays remained on board as sponsor.
Young had been announced as co-headliner with Bob Dylan at BST,  July 12, 2019.
Two days later, he informed subscribers to his online portal Neil Young Archives (NYA) that the Hyde Park show was going ahead, stating “NYA is happy to announce that the Hyde Park show will proceed without Barclays as a sponsor. We are overjoyed, so happy to be playing the show!”
AEG clarified that it was merely Young’s concert that would not be branded as a Barclaycard British Summer Time gig, but still take place on the same date, July 12, in Hyde Park – together with co-headliner Bob Dylan. The remaining event will be left untouched.
“Neil Young has made the decision to move away from the Barclaycard presents British Summer Time concert series. Neil Young and Bob Dylan will play a stand-alone concert in Hyde Park on the same date, 12th July. All tickets will remain valid. The Barclaycard presents British Summer Time concert series remains unaffected and will continue as normal with more headliners to be announced in early 2019,” the full AEG statement reads.
The confirmed lineup for Barclaycard presents British Summer Time Hyde Park includes Robbie Williams, Florence + The Machine, The National, Lykke Li and more.
